人は一人も損傷することなく皆安らかに帰ることができました。その間、往復の際に風が少し順調でない時、臣等が天妃に祈祷すれば即座に安泰を得ることができました。以前台湾平定の時から天妃は霊験あらたかで効果を示し、既に皇上の加封と祭祀を受けております。今回も黙って封舟を守護し、様々な霊異を示しました。仰いで特別な恩恵により地方官に春秋の祭祀を許可して神の庇護に報いることを祈願いたします、との内容です。恐れ多くも皇上の徳は世界に行き渡り、教化は海の果てまで及び、詔命の行く所神霊が協力して応じます。この度琉球国王冊封のため特に使臣を派遣して典礼を執り行い、大海の絶険な地域を往復しましたが、官兵従役数百人が皆安泰を得ました。これは確かに天妃の霊験によるものですが、実際は皆我が皇上が百神を懐柔され、海神が順応して効果を示した所以であります。調べますと康熙十九年に臣部で議論して天妃を「護国庇民妙霊昭応弘仁普済天妃」に封じ、官を派遣して祭祀を行うことなどを具題し、詔を奉じて議に依り恭しく遵守することが記録されています。今回天妃が黙って封舟を守護し様々な霊異を示したので、該当地方官に春秋の祭祀を命じ祀典に編入すべきです。命令が下る日を待って該当督撫に遵行を命じることができます。臣等は勝手に行うことを敢えてせず、謹んで題請して詔を求める次第です。康熙五十九年八月初三日に題し、本月初六日に奉

not one person suffered any loss and all returned safely. During the round trips, whenever the winds were slightly unfavorable, we subjects prayed to Tianfei and immediately received safety and good fortune. Since the time of pacifying Taiwan, Tianfei has manifested divine efficacy and compliance, already receiving His Majesty's additional investiture and sacrificial rites. Now she silently protects the investiture ships with various spiritual manifestations. We humbly pray for special imperial grace to permit local officials to offer sacrificial rites in spring and autumn to repay the divine protection," and so forth. We respectfully consider that His Majesty's virtue encompasses the entire world, his transformative influence reaches the edges of the seas, and wherever the imperial edicts go, divine spirits respond in cooperation. On this occasion, for the investiture of the King of Ryukyu, special envoys were dispatched to conduct the ceremonies, traveling round-trip through the extremely perilous regions of the great seas. Several hundred officials, soldiers, and attendants all obtained safety. While this was certainly due to Tianfei's divine manifestations, it was actually all the result of our Imperial Majesty's benevolent management of the hundred spirits and the sea deities' compliant efficacy. Upon investigation, in the nineteenth year of Kangxi, our Ministry deliberated and decided to invest Tianfei as "Nation-Protecting, People-Sheltering, Marvelously Spiritual, Brilliantly Responsive, Magnanimously Benevolent, Universally Beneficent Tianfei" and to dispatch officials to offer sacrificial rites. This was submitted as a memorial and received the imperial edict to follow the proposal, which was respectfully obeyed and is on record. Now that Tianfei has silently protected the investiture ships with various spiritual manifestations, local officials should be ordered to offer sacrificial rites in spring and autumn and this should be incorporated into the ritual code. When the day comes for the order to be issued, the relevant governors-general and governors can be commanded to comply. We subjects dare not act on our own authority and respectfully submit this memorial requesting an imperial edict.
