古銀の儀、割合通用致すべき旨、去る子年相触れ候ところ、通用も致さず銀座引替えにも差し出さず貯え置く者これ有り候。別して五畿内、北国、中国、四国、西国筋に多分古銀これ有りの由相聞き候。遠国の儀は引替え後にて慶長銀、古銀、灰吹銀貯金候ても、これ有るべき候間、右の国の銀座役人相廻し、五割増しの値にて買い入る筈に候間、慶長銀、古銀並びに灰吹銀貯え置かず、定法の代わり銀請け取りて引替うべき候。もっとも銀座へ差し出し引替うる儀は勝手次第たるべく候。但し来る子五月まで引替うる儀、銀座へ申し込み候分は当割増しにて引替え、同年六月より古銀は潰銀に相成り、慶長銀

Regarding old silver, it was announced in the previous Year of the Rat that it should be used in circulation at the prescribed rate. However, there are those who neither put it into circulation nor submit it to the silver mint for exchange, keeping it stored away. Particularly in the five home provinces (Kinai), northern provinces, Chūgoku, Shikoku, and western provinces, it is heard that there is much old silver. In distant provinces, after the exchange period, there may still be stored Keichō silver, old silver, and cupelled silver. Therefore, silver mint officials shall travel to those provinces and purchase at a 50% premium rate. Keichō silver, old silver, and cupelled silver should not be stored but should be exchanged for receiving the standard substitute silver. Of course, submitting to the silver mint for exchange shall be at one's discretion. However, for exchange applications submitted to the silver mint by the coming 5th month of the Year of the Rat, exchange will be at the current premium rate.
