合奉存候当月十日太平治宅へ私ヲ
相招弥治右衛門多平治弥太郎三人に而
申渡候次第木之義双方難渋
之願ニ付枯木ヲ伐取大枝之分
伐取可申様被仰渡候伐取候枝葉
之儀ハ表裏役人江被下候間左様
相心得可申段申聞候間枝卸之
義茂迷惑之事ニハ御座候得共
御見分之上 御上様より之

一十二日朝弥市江雑ヲ何日ニ相頼候
与申義茂不談事弥治右衛門多平治
弥太郎立彦右衛門ニ而示合袋町
善作様を相頼彦右衛門宅ニ而

御上様が御見分くださり、ありがたい仕
合いと存じております。今月十日、太平治宅へ私を
呼び寄せ、弥治右衛門、多平治、弥太郎の三人で
申し渡された次第は、木の件について双方が難渋
している願いにつき、枯木を伐採し、大枝の分を
伐採するようにとのお達しでした。伐採する枝葉
の件については、表裏の役人へ下されるとのことですので、そのように
心得るべきとのことを申し聞かされました。枝下ろしの
件も迷惑なことではございますが、
御見分の上で御上様からの
お沙汰でございますので、畏れ多く承りますと申し
帰宅いたしました。その後すぐに弥治右衛門並びに
多平治、弥太郎の三人が彦右衛門宅へ
招かれ、公事は勝利だと言って酒食を振る
舞い祝いました。
一、十二日朝、弥市へ雑用を何日に頼むかという
ことも相談せず、弥治右衛門、多平治、
弥太郎が立ち会い、彦右衛門と示し合わせて袋町の
善作様を頼み、彦右衛門宅にて

The honorable authorities conducted an inspection, which I consider a most
fortunate arrangement. On the 10th of this month, I was
summoned to Taheiji's residence, where Yajiuemon, Taheiji, and Yataro, the three of them,
delivered the following decision: regarding the matter of the tree, since both parties were experiencing difficulties
with their petitions, the dead wood should be cut down and the large branches
should be removed as instructed. Concerning the branches and leaves
to be cut, they would be given to the officials of both sides, so we should
understand this accordingly, I was told. Although the matter of cutting down branches
is troublesome,
since it is an inspection by the honorable authorities and
an official decision from above,
I humbly accepted it and
returned home. Immediately afterward, Yajiuemon along with
Taheiji and Yataro, the three of them, were
invited to Hikouemon's residence, where they celebrated with food and drink,
declaring that the legal case was a victory.
