もてなし其（その）うへ山海（さんかい）のちん味（み）をつくし終（をは）り
に老人（らうじん）の事なれば豆腐（とうふ）を二寸（にすん）ほどづゝに切（きり）串（くし）
にさし焼（やい）て木（き）のめ味噌（みそ）をつけ出（いだ）し老（おい）に酒（しゆ）
食（しよく）をすゝめけり翁師（おうし）うまし〳〵と手（て）をうちて
悦（よろこ）びのあまり還城楽（げんじやうらく）の笛（ふえ）の伝（でん）をこの門人（もんじん）に
免（ゆる）し給ふ是（これ）よりしてとふふ焼（やい）て味噌（みそ）をつけ

ちに降ったので、お喜びになって歌人に餅を賜った。歌の主は「これは歌の賃金でしょうか」と言ったので、餅を「かちん」と呼び習わすようになった。

摂津国四天王寺の楽人で何とかいう老翁がいた。雅楽の笛に精通していた。その門人が多くいたが、その中に一人、とりわけ笛の技に優れた者がいたけれども、還城楽は伝授ものであるとして

翁は許可を与えなかった。ある春の日、その老翁が門人の家に来て遊んでいた。門人である男はいろいろともてなし、その上山海の珍味を尽くして、最後に老人のことなので、豆腐を二寸ほどずつに切って串に刺し、焼いて木の芽味噌をつけて出し、老人に酒の肴として勧めた。翁師は「うまい、うまい」と手を打って、喜びのあまり還城楽の笛の伝授をこの門人に許可した。これより豆腐を焼いて味噌をつけた
