I entered service at Nakamuraya Ihei's establishment in Hyōgo, Settsu Province
when I was about fifteen years old. Thereafter I became the captain of his
thousand-koku capacity ship Eijumaru and sailed to various provinces.
In the eighth month of the previous Year of the Ox, we loaded sake, sugar, incense,
cotton and other goods at Hyōgo port and set out for commercial trade in Nanbu, Ōshū, with crew members
