者へ仕方をして相談いたしましたところ、憤っている様子で言葉荒々しく何か申し聞かせ、私どもを打擲いたしましたので、やむを得ず私ども並びに初太郎、伊之助、茂三郎、惣吉、太吉、弥市の七人が端船へ漕ぎ付け、私ども七人を上陸させて置き、その端船は元の船へ漕ぎ返し、どこかへ出帆いたしました。
一、勘次郎、岩松、三平、要蔵、万蔵、七太郎の六人はその外国船に残りました。
その寅年二月二十日頃外国船に乗り移ってから浜辺へ上陸するまでの日数はおよそ五十五日程になりました。

They loaded the cargo, and we abandoned our ship with the remaining goods as they were, then sailed eastward day and night. We were given rice twice a day for food, but there were no side dishes. The foreigners ate three times a day, and their side dishes were beef or pork boiled in salt water. We were made to do rope work and clean the inside of the ship. Around mid-April, they brought the ship to a beach that looked like an island (San Lucas), dropped anchor around the hour of the Monkey in the daytime (around 3 PM) and moored there. That same night, around the hour of the Cock (around 10 PM), while we were lying down, the foreigners woke us up and gestured for us to board a small boat they had lowered. Since it was the middle of the night, we all found this suspicious and asked the captain-like person to postpone our boarding of that boat.

The small boat then returned to the main ship, which sailed away to somewhere.
