で、男は総髪で前の方を五寸程に鋏で切り、左右に撫で下ろし、後ろは五分程ずつに鋏で切り回し、図のような物を被り、着物は羅紗や呉絽服連の類の筒袖を着て、股引も同様、皮の靴を履いています。女は総髪を三つ折りにして後ろに長く下げ、また髪を頭に巻き立て、笄並びに櫛で留めている者もおります。衣類は更紗並びに薄絹様の筒袖で腕まで掛かり、肩から上を出すように仕立てて着ており、腰には袴のようで周りにひだを多く取った物をまとい、靴は絹切れで底に皮を当てて履いております。もっとも紅白粉は付けている者は見受けられませんでした。

一、右の九人の者どもが前段の入口の家で一緒になったところ、主人のように見える者《割書：人体・着服等は前段同様》が色々申し聞かせてくれましたが、言葉が分かりません。一人ずつ袖を引いて九軒に引き分けて連れて参り、私は同村の内で家造りは前段同様で、間口五間奥行三間程の十畳敷位の土間に置いてくれました。もっとも曲録のような物に腰を掛けており、夜分は縁台に牛の皮を張り、毛織の類を敷き、その上に更紗等を敷いて臥しました。
