さくしや一九てばなを
ぶんとかみすてゝ曰く
さてたゞ今あらはし
ましたしかいのづに
いつさい人けんはもち
ろんばんぶつのこらず
だいのある事を申て
きかしませふそれ
わか国のゑびすは
とこのまにおいても
いわの上にさし給ひ
大こくはつくゑに
がざりても
たはらのうへに
すはり給ふ
仏にもれんだい
あり此しまに
かぎらずせかいの人
みなだいあり王たいといひ
武家のいだいといひせんぞの
だいよりうけつぎかとくに
すはるを代かわりといひ
丁人にもたいありすこし
にてもたいかあればだん〳〵
大しんだいともなるものなり
店をかりても店代かなければすはつてはいられず
もしふらちものがあつてだいなしとなれは
おへないといふやつこさまとなつて二合半の
もりきりをせしめるなりとかくだいを
うしなはぬがかんじんこゝにかざつてある
まるひものは三千せかいのくみあげのゑづでこさる
せかいは一つのまりのごとしとふるき書にもいふごとく
天は丸く地は角なり此丸きものをせかいぢうが
とりまいているやうなものにて日本は此まりの
かしらにあたつてあれば唐はよこのほうにて
てんちくはまりの下にあたるなり人間は
ありのことくみなこれにとりついているやうな
ものなれは日本の人はすぐにしてからの人は
よこにとりつきているなりよこやさかさまに
たつているはづはなけれどもこれみな
目にこそみへねだいかあるゆへさかさま
でもよこでもたつてあるくなり
そのだいといふはちかくいへは
このおき上り小ほうし也
是もあしも手も
なけれども中に
おもみのたいかある
ゆへよこにしても
さかさにしても
しきにたつなりたつときも
いやしきもそれそうおうの
しんだいといふだいがあるゆへ
たつているなりとかくこの
だいをふみはづさぬやうに
こゝろがけ給ふが人間の第一也

作者一九が鼻を文と紙で捨てて言うことには
「さて、ただいま表しましたる世界の図に、一切人間はもちろん万物残らず台のある事を申して聞かせましょう。それ、我が国の恵比須は床の間においても岩の上に座し給い、大黒は机に座りても俵の上に座り給う。仏にも蓮台あり。この島に限らず世界の人皆台あり。王代と言い、武家の位代と言い、先祖の代より受け継ぎ各々に座るを代替わりと言い、町人にも代あり。少しにても代があれば段々大身代ともなるものなり。店を借りても店代金なければ座っていられず。
もし不埒者があって代無しとなれば、おえない（どうにもならない）という奴隷様となって二合半の盛り切りをさせられるなり。とかく代を失わぬが肝心。ここに飾ってある丸い物は三千世界の組み上げの絵図で候。世界は一つの毬のごとしと古き書にも言うごとく、天は丸く地は角なり。この丸きものを世界中が取り巻いているようなもので、日本はこの毬の頭に当たってあれば、唐は横の方で、天竺は毬の下に当たるなり。人間は蟻のごとく皆これに取り付いているようなものなれば、日本の人はまっすぐにして、唐の人は横に取り付いているなり。横や逆さまに立っているはずはないけれども、これ皆目にこそ見えね台があるゆえ、逆さまでも横でも立って歩くなり。
その台というは近く言えばこの起き上がり小法師なり。これも足も手もないけれども、中に重みの台があるゆえ、横にしても逆さにしても直に立つなり。尊きも卑しきもそれ相応の身代という台があるゆえ立っているなり。とかくこの台を踏み外さぬように心がけ給うが人間の第一なり。何と合点か」
【一九の講釈】
♪家を建てるにも土台というが肝心さ
♪とかく人は食わねば立たず、その食い物を拵える男代心というのさ
また吉原などへ行くにも代がなければ行かれぬと思し召せ
♪この毬の形、芝居の楽屋太鼓のごとくなれば、どん天気というはこの事さ

Author Ichiku blows his nose with paper and says:
"Now, regarding the world diagram I have just presented, let me explain that all things - not only all humans but all phenomena - have their foundation or 'base.' In our country, Ebisu sits upon a rock even when placed in the tokonoma alcove, and Daikoku sits upon rice bales even when seated at a desk. Buddha too has his lotus pedestal. Not limited to this island, all people in the world have their bases. There are royal dynasties, samurai family positions, each inherited from ancestral generations - their succession is called 'generational change.' Townspeople too have their bases. Even with just a little capital, one can gradually build great wealth. Even to rent a shop, without shop rent money, one cannot remain seated there.
If there should be a scoundrel who loses his foundation, he becomes a helpless slave-like person forced to survive on meager rations of two-and-a-half cups of rice. In any case, not losing one's foundation is essential. This round object displayed here is an assembly diagram of the three thousand worlds. As ancient texts say, 'the world is like a single ball' - heaven is round and earth is square. This round thing is surrounded by the entire world, so Japan corresponds to the top of this ball, China is on the side, and India corresponds to the bottom of the ball. Humans are like ants all clinging to it, so Japanese people cling straight up, while Chinese people cling sideways. Though there's no reason they should stand sideways or upside down, since they all have invisible foundations, they can stand and walk whether upside down or sideways.
This foundation, to put it simply, is like this roly-poly doll (okiagari koboshi). Though it has no arms or legs, because it has a weighted base inside, whether placed on its side or upside down, it immediately stands upright. Both noble and humble people stand because they each have foundations appropriate to their social status. In any case, being careful not to lose one's footing on this foundation is the most important thing for humans. Do you understand?"
[Ichiku's Commentary]
♪Even when building a house, the foundation is what's essential
♪In any case, people cannot stand without eating - the spirit to prepare that food is called 'male foundation heart'
