現代語訳
不動様は太神宮様のお頼みも断りがたく、他の仏たちへも話していろいろと相談して、あの島を開くことはとても簡単であるけれども、差し当たって人間の子種を作るという肝心なところは、神様たちばかりがご存じのことで、仏たちは全く分からないことなので、いろいろと工夫なさって、不動様が思いついたのは、
子種となるべき錫杖をあの島へことごとく植え付けて、人間を作り出そうということで、あっぱれ得意顔でその相談を決められた。
「おや、勢至さん、今朝からまだお目にかかりませんでしたね。私は昨日から不動さんの金縛りで、この部屋にずっといるのです。」
「懐胎十ヶ月を預かる仏たちの部屋部屋で、それぞれに錫杖や突っ子がかねて用意してある。その中でも貴人高位の腹に生まれる錫杖や突っ子などには金箔が押してある。」
「おや、皆さんお揃いですね。何かおいしいお守りものでもあるのですかね。」
「晩には夢に見られる口があるが、せり出しの塩梅はいいか知らぬ。」
英語訳
Fudo-sama could not refuse the request from Daijingu-sama, so he spoke to other Buddhas and consulted with them extensively. While opening that island would be quite easy, the crucial matter of creating the seeds of human beings was something only known to the gods, and the Buddhas did not understand it at all. So after much deliberation, Fudo-sama came up with an idea:
To plant shakujo (Buddhist staff) that would serve as human seeds all over that island and create human beings from them. With a triumphant expression, he finalized this plan.
"Oh, Seishi-san, I haven't seen you since this morning. I've been stuck in this room since yesterday under Fudo-san's paralyzing spell."
"In the rooms of the Buddhas who oversee the ten months of pregnancy, shakujo and tokko (ritual implements) have been prepared in advance. Among these, the shakujo and tokko destined for the wombs of nobles and high-ranking people are decorated with gold leaf."
"Oh, everyone is gathered here. Is there some delicious protective charm available?"
"There are mouths that will be seen in dreams at night, but I don't know if the condition of their protrusion is good."
