出現シテ悪業煩悩アル人間ハ何ノ益ニ造リ出

尼迄作リ給フヿハ何事ソヤ人間ヲ拵サランニ
ハ何ノ真言陀羅尼カ用ユヘキ又釈迦弥陀ハ人
間ナルカ故ニ仏力衰ヘ経巻踏破テモ仏罪ヲ蒙
ルヿナシ天帝如来ハ混沌ノ始メニ出現ノ仏ナ
ルカ故ニ仏威万劫モ易ルヿナシト然ラハ末世
ノ人天帝如来ノ威神力ヲ以テ何ソ其始ノ人ノ
如ク正直シニテ天上ノ果ヲ得スシテ悪業ヲナ
スヤ然ル時ハ天帝如来ノ仏力モ衰ヘタルカ仏
威万劫モ易ルヿナシト云ハ偽カ説法ノ其理貫
通セス此義如何ト問レテ梅庵一言モ口ヲ開ク
ヿ能ハスサシウツムキテ口ヲトツ栢翁責掛テ
梅庵此返答如何如何ト問詰レトモ始メ栢翁能ク
言語ヲ再度問返シテ詞ヲ固メ置ケル故爰ニ至
テ梅庵一向ニ法門ノ口ヲ開キ得スシテ曰栢翁
愚痴ニシテ法意ニ通セス女性ノ論ノ如シ何ノ
理カ通セン不便ナル哉悲ムヘキ哉縁ナキ衆生
ハ度シ難シト云テ座ヲ起テ去ントス栢翁其裾
ヲ取テ引留メ縁ナキ衆生ハ度シ難シトハ釈迦

出現して悪業煩悩のある人間を何の益のために造り出されたのか。その上、そのために難儀な苦行をして真言陀羅尼まで作られるとは何事か。人間を造らなければ、何の真言陀羅尼が必要であろうか。また釈迦や弥陀は人間であるがゆえに仏力が衰え、経巻を踏み破っても仏罪を蒙ることはない。天帝如来は混沌の始めに出現した仏であるがゆえに、仏威は万劫たっても変わることがない」と。「それならば、末世の人は天帝如来の威神力をもってして、なぜその始めの人のように正直にして天上の果を得ずに悪業をなすのか。そうであるならば天帝如来の仏力も衰えたのか、仏威は万劫たっても変わることがないというのは偽りか。説法のその理は貫通していない。この義はいかに」と問われて、梅庵は一言も口を開くことができず、うつむいて口をつぐんだ。栢翁は責め立てて「梅庵よ、この返答はいかに、いかに」と問い詰めるが、初めに栢翁がよく言語を再度問い返して言葉を固めておいたゆえに、ここに至って梅庵は一向に法門の口を開くことができずに言った。「栢翁は愚痴にして法意に通ぜず、女性の論のようである。何の理が通じようか。不便なことよ、悲しむべきことよ。縁なき衆生は度し難い」と言って座を立って去ろうとする。栢翁はその裾を取って引き留め、「縁なき衆生は度し難しとは釈迦の
