かす。此国（このくに）の盗人（ぬすひと）坊主（はうず）同心（どうしん）して。いるまん

臭い肉に執着してはならないという教えである。この心から離れるべきである。心が生じれば苦楽がある。心が滅すれば障りがない。心をもって心を知るべきである。されば、仏と衆生との違いは、水と氷のようなものである。煩悩の念が滞るのを、水が氷となることに例え、万念消滅して障りがないのを、氷が解けて水となることに例えたのである。されば経に「三界唯一心、心外無別法。心仏及衆生、是三無差別」と説かれている。この一心とは何者であろうか。キリシタンは全く知ることがない。

This is a teaching not to become attached to foul flesh. One should depart from this mind. When mind arises, there is suffering and pleasure. When mind is extinguished, there are no obstructions. One should know mind through mind. Therefore, the difference between Buddha and sentient beings is like that between water and ice. The stagnation of afflicted thoughts is compared to water becoming ice, and the extinction of all thoughts with no obstructions is compared to ice melting and becoming water. Therefore, the sutra says: "The three realms are only one mind; outside mind there is no separate dharma. Mind, Buddha, and sentient beings - these three are without distinction." What is this one mind? Christians know nothing of it at all.
