牡丹仕上げの図
白牡丹は大きな栗がよい
紅花（べにばな）は花びらを紅で彩色するものなり
○椿の仕様
牡丹と同様なり。栗か芋がよい。白椿には栗がよい。
剥き様は牡丹の花びらと同じ様に剥き、手のひらに載せ包丁の棟にて縦に反りを付け、へを下ろす。この花びら五枚、また少し小さきを五枚。
蕊は牡丹の通り少し小さくする。牡丹は人参五つ巻く。椿は二つにてよし。
木取り：このごとくする

蕾：小の慈姑半分、皮を取り、あと半分のところ、図のごとく切り方を入れて
枝は椿、なくば要黐でも、撚りたるものにてする

花びらはこの通り縦に少し反りを付けて、の周りより引く。その次は少し小さくして
台座は小の慈姑、図のごとく切り、この通り作る

この所竹茎にて挿す この所竹を挿し据えて 菘の木綿糸にて巻く

Diagram of Finished Peony
For white peonies, large chestnuts are best. For red flowers (safflower), the petals are colored with red pigment.
○Camellia Instructions
Same as peony. Chestnuts or sweet potatoes are good. For white camellias, chestnuts are best.
The peeling method is the same as for peony petals - peel and place on palm, use knife spine to add vertical curves, then lower down. Make five of these petals, and five more slightly smaller ones.
For the pistil, follow peony method but make slightly smaller. Peonies use five carrot wraps. For camellias, two are sufficient.
Wood cutting: Do as shown

Buds: Use half of small arrowhead tuber, remove skin, then at the halfway point, make cuts as shown in diagram
For branches, use camellia wood, or if unavailable, use bird lime or twisted materials

○Chrysanthemum Instructions
For petals, add slight vertical curves as shown, pull from around the circumference. The next layer should be made slightly smaller.
The base uses small arrowhead tubers, cut as shown in diagram, made as illustrated
