現代語訳
花びら外回り一辺吹き付け、また次に少し小さきものをこの間へ少し内側に吹く。右の通り何枚も重ねて吹く。
人参を丸く作り、小口より切り、少し山高にして右の図のごとく細かく縦横に刻みを入れ、蕊にして竹釘にて挿す。
この通り少し山高に作る。
菊の仕上げの図
半開きは花びらに大小を作り、台座は慈姑の中を窪ませて前の通り吹き付ける。
右いずれも竹に挿し、麻の木綿糸にて巻く。菊の葉なき時は大根の葉にて作る。針金にて付ける。

○小菊の仕様
小菊は栗か慈姑にて、この図の通りを薄くして作る。また少しずつ大きなるを四段に四枚か五枚ほど作って下の図のごとく重ねる。
この取り四五枚も重ねて中へ蕊を載せる。蕊は大菊の通り、竹に挿して麻の木綿糸にて巻く。葉は大根の葉にても、針金にて付ける。針金も青く巻く。
また寒菊は太く花作り一枚にてよし。蕊は人参にて左の図のごとく作る。または金柑の皮剥き実にてもよし。

花の図この通り、もっとも栗にて張る。小菊と同じ。葉は枝と大きくの通りを小さく作って、葉を紅にて少し色取る。
○鉄線の仕様
鉄線蕊芯の図このごとく作る。
さて人参か赤菜の皮どころを椿・牡丹などの蕊のように作り、芯に巻き付け、木綿糸にて括り、蕊を右の図のごとく横に並べ挿す。糸の際より切り放し、花の中へ載せ竹にて挿す。

Attach petals around the outer edge first, then attach slightly smaller ones between them, positioned slightly inward. Layer many petals as shown on the right.
Make carrots round, cut from the end, make slightly mounded, and cut fine vertical and horizontal notches as shown in the right diagram to make pistils, then insert with bamboo pegs.

For half-open flowers, make petals in large and small sizes. For the base, hollow out the center of arrowhead tubers and attach as before.
For all of these, insert into bamboo and wrap with hemp cotton thread. When chrysanthemum leaves are unavailable, use daikon radish leaves. Attach with wire.
For buds, also make cuts in arrowhead tubers.
○Small Chrysanthemum Instructions
For small chrysanthemums, use chestnuts or arrowhead tubers, making them thin as shown in the diagram. Make gradually larger ones in four tiers of about four or five pieces each, layering as shown in the diagram below.
Layer four or five of these pieces and place pistils in the center. Make pistils as for large chrysanthemums, insert into bamboo and wrap with hemp cotton thread. For leaves, daikon leaves may also be used, attached with wire. Wrap the wire in blue as well.
For winter chrysanthemums, make thick flowers with single petals. Make pistils from carrots as shown in the left diagram, or kumquat peeled flesh may also be used.

Flower diagram as shown - use chestnuts for backing, same as small chrysanthemums. For leaves, make smaller versions following the large branch pattern, coloring the leaves lightly with red.
○Clematis Instructions
Make clematis pistil cores as shown in this diagram.
Then use carrot or red vegetable skin to make pistils like those of camellia and peony, wrap around the core, tie with cotton thread, arrange the pistils horizontally as shown in the right diagram and insert. Cut away from the thread edge and place in the flower center, inserting with bamboo.
