現代語訳
○山吹の仕様
人参をこの図のごとく作り、薄々と切る。手のひらに載せ煙管の頭にて中窪みに反らせ水へ入れて置く。台座は菊の台座のごとく豆慈姑にて作る。またはフキノトウもよし。さて右の花形を二枚重ね、蕊は前の小菊の通り人参にて作るか、またはわさびおろしにて人参をおろして載せるもよし。蕾は人参にて作る。台座は小さき豆慈姑か、または唐辛子の台座にても。
枝は山吹の枝を使う。なくば嫁菜の若菜にても似たる葉を使う。

葉に刻みなくば鋏にて刻みを作る。
○水仙の仕様
花びらは栗にて前のごとく作り六枚。台座は芋にても大根にても左の図の通り作る。蕊は金柑に切り込み、中の実を取り皮を使う。図のごとし。花びら六つ。
金柑二つ切りの図。また人参にてはこの中を深く刳る。
水仙仕上げの図
台座の図、茎にて挿す。
水仙の花茎は棕櫚の葉を切って使う。葉を少し捻って、もっとも葉の数四枚に限る。
○藤の花仕様
大根を三角に銀杏のごとく作り、その先端を半分ほど左の図のごとく切り込む。
花
このごとく切り込み、皮を剥いて、このへたに竹を挿す。これを藤の蔓かまたは蕗の軸に挿す。

この花蕾八つのごとく言う角ばかり。もっとも竹にて花のごとく挿す。
南天の葉か何でも似たる葉よし。
英語訳
○Yamabuki (Japanese Kerria) Instructions
Make carrots as shown in this diagram and cut very thinly. Place on palm and use the head of a pipe to create a curved hollow in the center, then soak in water. Make the base like a chrysanthemum base using arrowhead bulbs. Butterbur sprouts also work well. Layer two of these flower forms, and make the pistils with carrots as with the previous small chrysanthemums, or grate carrots with a wasabi grater and place on top. Make buds with carrots. Use small arrowhead bulbs for the base, or red pepper calyxes will also work.
Use yamabuki branches for branches. If unavailable, use young kalimeris leaves or similar-looking leaves.

If the leaves lack serrations, create notches with scissors.
○Daffodil Instructions
Make six petals with chestnuts as before. Make the base with taro or daikon radish as shown in the left diagram. For pistils, cut into kumquats, remove the inner flesh and use the peel as shown in the diagram. Six petals.

For daffodil stems, cut and use palm leaves. Twist the leaves slightly, limiting to four leaves.
○Wisteria Flower Instructions
Make daikon radish triangular like ginkgo nuts, and cut the tips about halfway as shown in the left diagram.
Flowers
Cut as shown, peel the skin, and insert bamboo into this stem end. Insert this into wisteria vines or butterbur stems.
Lower diagram
Make about eight of these flower buds as described. Insert like flowers using bamboo.
Nandina leaves or any similar leaves work well.
