一 当村石切之儀悉紛儀仕申候処外ニ
壱人茂無御座候然上者石切旅先ニ而
随分実躰正路ニ相渡候様ニ致承知候
若御帳面を除キ隠置候段及御聞候ハヽ
其元御注進中被成候半致承知候
其上拙者共如何様御咎被仰付候共
少茂御恨申間敷候為後日請負証文

指出し申し一札の事
一 当村の石切の件につきまして、すべて詳しく調査いたしました結果、他に一人も存在いたしません。したがって、石切が旅先においても十分に誠実正当に振る舞うよう承知いたします。もし帳面から除いて隠し置いた者がいるとお聞きになりましたら、そちら様へご報告されることと承知いたします。その上で、私共がどのようなお咎めを仰せ付けられましても、少しも恨み申すことはございません。後日の証拠として請負証文を差し上げます。よって書面の通りでございます。

Document of Declaration and Pledge
Item: Regarding the matter of stone cutters in our village, we have thoroughly investigated and found that there are no others besides those already reported. Therefore, we acknowledge that stone cutters shall conduct themselves with complete sincerity and propriety even when traveling. Should you hear that we have concealed anyone by removing them from the records, we understand that you will report this to the authorities. Furthermore, whatever punishment may be imposed upon us, we shall harbor no resentment whatsoever. We submit this guarantee document as evidence for future reference. Thus, as stated herein.
