キリスト教（邪法）の信者となって、その国の者が多く住んでいるという。土地の人々の風俗は甚だ卑しい。

ラタランは日本の東南の大海中にある島国で暑い国である。昔、南蛮の諸国が往来する際に船を寄せて見たことがあるという。近世になって紅毛人（オランダ人）等が到達したことがあるかどうかは詳しくわからない。
