Ryukyu is an island nation in the southern seas. In ancient times it was called Ryūgū (Dragon Palace), in medieval times it was called Ryūkyū, and in recent times it became Ryukyu. It is a warm region. It is located twenty-five to twenty-six degrees north of the equator.
