一読谷山御玄関階之上至時大目付二人出向
　案内而殿上間下段着座従者同所次之間
　列居下官之族は御玄関前庭上群居
一松平薩摩守同豊後守登　城殿上間下段

一、読谷山王子が御玄関の階段の上に到着すると、大目付二人が出向いて案内し、殿上間下段に着座させる。従者は同じ場所の次の間に列座し、下級官吏たちは御玄関前の庭上に群居する。

一、松平薩摩守（島津家当主）および同豊後守が登城し、殿上間下段の座上に着座する。

一、出仕する面々は各々長袴を着用する。

一、中山王の書簡を大目付二人が受け取る。

1. When Prince Yomitanzan arrives at the top of the steps of the main entrance, two ōmetsuke (chief inspectors) come forward to guide him and have him take his seat in the lower tier of the palace hall. His retainers are seated in rows in the adjacent room of the same location, while lower-ranking officials gather in the courtyard in front of the main entrance.

1. Matsudaira Satsuma-no-kami (lord of Satsuma domain) and Matsudaira Bungo-no-kami ascend to the castle and take their seats in the upper positions of the lower tier of the palace hall.

1. All those in attendance wear long hakama (formal divided skirts).

1. The letter from the King of Chūzan is received by two ōmetsuke.
