飫肥城に引き返した。こうして関ヶ原の戦いが終わった後、高橋（右近将監）がすでに降伏して本領を賜ったので、伊東が攻め取った宮崎城を右近将監に返すべき旨を仰せ下された。また島津にも本領安堵の御免許があったので、穆佐・倉岡・高岡・綾合等の地をも龍伯入道（島津義弘）のもとに返し与えた。自ら戦って攻め取った土地をみなことごとく本来の主人に返したのは本意ないことであった。こうして慶長5年（1600年）11月11日、豊後守祐兵は病がついに治ることなく死去した。年齢は六十歳であったと聞いている。嫡子左京亮祐慶が本領を給わって（五万七千石という）修理大夫に任じられ、寛永13年（1636年）4月4日に四十八歳で死去した。嫡男

大和守祐久が家を継いで（五万四千石）、二男主膳正祐豊は父の所領を分け給わった（三千石、後に加恩があってすべて五千石を領した）。大和守祐久は四十九歳で明暦3年（1657年）10月27日に死去し、嫡子左京亮祐由が父の跡を継いだ（五万石）。二男将監祐実は父の領地を分け給わった（三千石）。寛文3年（1663年）6月13日、祐由は三十一歳で早世した。子がなかったので舎弟監物祐実を養子とした。祐実は兄の家を継ぎ（五万四千石、これは自ら分け給わった領地をすべて含む）、寛文3年12月28日に叙爵して出雲守に任じられた。

[The forces] returned to Obi Castle. After the Battle of Sekigahara concluded, Takahashi (Ukon Shōgen) had already surrendered and been granted his original domain, so it was ordered that Miyazaki Castle, which the Itō had captured, should be returned to Ukon Shōgen. Shimazu was also granted confirmation of their original domain, so the lands of Mukasa, Kuraoka, Takaoka, Ayaai and others were returned to Ryūhaku Nyūdō (Shimazu Yoshihiro). All the lands they had personally fought for and conquered were returned entirely to their original lords, which must have been deeply disappointing. Thus, on the 11th day of the 11th month of this year (1600), Bungo-no-kami Sukehei's illness finally proved incurable and he died at the age of sixty. His eldest son Sakyō-no-suke Sukeyoshi received the original domain (said to be 57,000 koku) and was appointed Shuri-dayū. Yamato-no-kami Sukehisa inherited the house (54,000 koku), and his second son Shuzen-no-shō Suketomi was granted a division of his father's domain (3,000 koku, later receiving additional favor for a total of 5,000 koku). Yamato-no-kami Sukehisa died at the age of forty-nine on the 27th day of the 10th month of Meireki 3 (1657), and his eldest son Sakyō-no-suke Sukeyoshi succeeded his father (50,000 koku). His second son Shōgen Sukesane was granted a division of his father's domain (3,000 koku). On the 13th day of the 6th month of Kanbun 3 (1663), Sukeyoshi died young at the age of thirty-one. Having no children, he adopted his younger brother Kenbutsu Sukesane. Sukesane inherited his brother's house (54,000 koku, including all the domains he had personally been granted), and on the 28th day of the 12th month of Kanbun 3, he was ennobled and appointed Izumo-no-kami.
