城を堅固に守り、自ら出て良い地形を見回っている時に朝鮮の伏兵に遭って戦い死んだと報告した。やがて弟の秀成に三木の城を与えて秀政の跡を継がせた。この年五月、大友左兵衛督義統が罪を被って豊後の地が無主の国となったので、御家人等に分け与えられた。竹田の城は秀成に与えられて移住した。《割書:七万四千百石》その後叙爵して修理大夫に任じられた。《割書:初めの名は小兵衛》同じく四年、朝鮮に渡って大明の兵と戦い打ち破って、自身も傷を負ったが高名を現して帰朝した。太閤が薨去され東西の軍が起こり、修理大夫秀成は徳川殿の

味方として同国臼杵の城に軍勢を差し向け、太田飛騨守政信と戦った。関ヶ原の合戦で上方の軍が敗れたと聞いて太田の城を去った。秀成は四十二歳、慶長十七年八月十四日に卒した。その子内膳正久盛《割書:初めの名は秀征》が家を継いだ。大坂の軍が起こった時は急いで城を攻めた。また再び兵が起こった時には参加するに及ばなかった。承応二年三月二十九日、六十歳で卒した。その子山城守久清が家を継ぎ、寛文六年四月晦日に隠居して入道し、入山と号した。その子佐渡守久恒が父の所領を譲り受けた。

sent forces to Usuki Castle in the same province and fought against Ōta Hida-no-kami Masanobu. When he heard that the western forces were defeated at the Battle of Sekigahara, he withdrew from Ōta's castle. Hidenari died at age forty-two on the fourteenth day of the eighth month of Keichō 17. His son Naizen-no-shō Hisamori {{Marginal note: Originally named Hidemasa}} succeeded the house. When the Osaka campaign began, he hurried to besiege the castle. When war arose again, there was no need for him to participate. He died at age sixty on the twenty-ninth day of the third month of Jōō 2. His son Yamashiro-no-kami Hisakiyo succeeded the house, retired on the last day of the fourth month of Kanbun 6, took the tonsure, and took the religious name Nyūzan. His son Sado-no-kami Hisatsune inherited his father's domain.
