私儀代々御仕送り役奉蒙 仰御扶持方頂戴仕相勤罷在候処
天保十亥年壱人扶持御加扶持頂戴仕同十一子年御祝義之
節享保年中ゟ引続代々御仕送り役相勤来り候家筋之
訳柄ヲ以子孫之もの永々御目見苗字一刀御免被仰付
天保十四卯年町年寄役奉蒙 仰相勤罷在候処文久二戌年
無滞御免被 仰付数年相勤候為御賞美鳥目被下置

右の願書を正月8日に民政局へ提出したところ、近藤義男様からこれより藩庁へ参るよう仰せ付けられ、持参するようにと命じられましたので持参いたします。百文の銭をお下げくださいました。
恐れながら口上書をもってお願い申し上げます
私は代々御仕送り役を仰せ付けられ、御扶持方をいただいて勤めておりましたが、天保10年亥年に一人扶持の御加扶持をいただき、同11年子年の御祝儀の節に、享保年中より引き続き代々御仕送り役を勤めてきた家筋の事情により、子字の者が永々御目見得、苗字帯刀をお許しいただきました。天保14年卯年に町年寄役を仰せ付けられ勤めておりましたが、文久2年戌年に滞りなくお免しを仰せ付けられ、数年勤めた褒美として鳥目をお下げ置きくださいました。

When the above petition was submitted to the Civil Administration Bureau on the 8th day of the first month, Mr. Kondo Yoshio instructed us to proceed from here to the domain office and ordered us to bring it along, so we are bringing it. He bestowed 100 mon in coins upon us.
Humbly, we respectfully petition through this oral statement:
I have served in the hereditary position of御仕送り役 (messenger/transport official), receiving stipends, when in Tenpo 10 (Year of the Boar), I received an additional stipend of one person's portion. In Tenpo 11 (Year of the Rat), on the occasion of celebrations, due to the circumstances of our family line that has continuously served as御仕送り役 since the Kyoho era, my descendants were granted permanent audience rights and permission to use surnames and wear swords. In Tenpo 14 (Year of the Rabbit), I was appointed to the position of town elder and served in that capacity, but in Bunkyu 2 (Year of the Dog), I was granted release from duty without incident, and as a reward for several years of service, I was bestowed monetary gifts.
