金銀之儀先達而吹直候 仰付候得共弐朱判之儀
其段被差置候処年末相立候分二者手摺筈二而
極印文もの茂消候分兼紛敷見候弐朱判茂
有之趣相聞此度吹直被 仰付候然處弐朱
判目方重き故平日持運頃茂山高強粗
難儀之旨相聞其上遠国え遣候二者猶更
之儀尤之齊度者壱枚二付目方七分宛相減
可致通用候尤右引替之儀者追而
不及沙汰候右之趣国々江茂可触知者也

一此度吹直被 仰せ付く候弐朱判之儀来ル廿一日より
引替遣候尤有来弐朱判之義茂追而及沙汰候迄者
新弐朱判取交請取方渡方両替共二無滞可致
通用候上納之義茂可為同前事分り
一引替弐朱判之義者鋳弐朱判並極印相
兼候分共差出次第引替可遣候条来ル廿一日より
銀座を始別紙名前之者表方え差出引替
可申事
一武家其外者町人え相対二而申付右名前之
者其方え差出為引替候之義も請取次第二候事
一引替可差出二朱判員数知候事二候間

【右丁】
金銀のことについて、先達って吹き直しを命じられたが、二朱判のことについてはその段階では差し置かれていた。ところが年末に至った分については手擦れのせいで極印の文字も消えた分があり、紛らわしく見える二朱判もあると聞いている。この度吹き直しを命じられた。しかし二朱判は目方が重いため、平日持ち運ぶ際も量が多くなると大変難儀であると聞いている。その上遠国へ送る場合はなおさらのことである。もっともなことなので、今度は一枚につき目方を七分ずつ減らして通用させることにする。もっとも右の引き替えのことについては追って沙汰に及ばない。右の趣旨を国々へも触れ知らせるものである。

一、この度吹き直しを命じられた二朱判のことについて、来る二十一日より引き替えを行う。もっとも従来の二朱判のことも追って沙汰があるまでは、新二朱判と取り交ぜて受け取り方・渡し方・両替共に滞りなく通用させること。上納のことも同前とすること。
一、引き替える二朱判のことについては、焼けた二朱判並びに極印が欠けた分共に差し出し次第引き替えを行う。よって来る二十一日より銀座をはじめ別紙名前の者の店方へ差し出して引き替えを申すこと。
一、武家その他は町人へ相対して申し付け、右名前の者のところへ差し出して引き替えをすることも、受け取り次第とすること。
一、引き替えに差し出すべき二朱判の員数を知ることとする。

Regarding gold and silver currency, although recoining was previously ordered, the matter of nishu-ban (two-shu coins) was set aside at that stage. However, by year's end, some coins had become worn from handling, causing the hallmarks to fade, and there are reports that some nishu-ban have become difficult to distinguish. This time, recoining has been ordered. However, since nishu-ban are heavy, daily carrying becomes quite difficult when in large quantities. Moreover, when sending them to distant provinces, this becomes even more problematic. This being reasonable, from now on, each coin shall be reduced in weight by seven fun and put into circulation. The matter of exchanging these coins need not be mentioned further. This policy shall be announced to all provinces.

1. Regarding the nishu-ban that have been ordered to be recoined, exchange will begin from the coming 21st day. However, until further notice regarding existing nishu-ban, both new nishu-ban shall be accepted together in receiving, disbursing, and money changing without delay. Tax payments shall be treated the same way.
1. Regarding nishu-ban to be exchanged, both burned nishu-ban and those with missing hallmarks shall be exchanged as soon as they are presented. Therefore, from the coming 21st day, present them to the Silver Guild (ginza) and other shops listed separately for exchange.
1. Samurai and others shall arrange with townspeople to present them to the aforementioned designated persons for exchange, which shall be handled upon receipt.
1. The number of nishu-ban to be presented for exchange shall be recorded.
