現代語訳

【右丁】
一、御沙汰は無用である。これにより、堤防や川除けの修復等は、今後は自普請を申し付けられることになる。これについて国役金は差し出す必要はない。もっとも、これまでに普請が完成した入用金のうち、割銭の分は割合に応じて徴収する予定である。また、万石以上の知行取りや寺社領についても、従前の触れの趣旨を心得て、実際に大破していて手の施しようがない程の場合は格別として、その他については可能な限り自普請を行い、手に負えない場合に願い出るのは当然のことながら、一通りの理由で軽々しく国役普請を願い出てはならない。

　申十月

一、この度、東海道舞坂宿・新居宿、日光道中宇都宮宿の国境の駅について、人馬賃銭並びに今切渡船賃ともに割増しを左の通り請け取るべき旨申し渡す。

一、去る卯十月より当申の東海道九月まで、五ヶ年の間

1. Government deliberation is unnecessary. Therefore, repairs to embankments and river maintenance works shall henceforth be assigned as local public works (jifushin). Regarding this matter, national duty money (kokuyaku-kin) need not be submitted. However, regarding the costs of public works completed up to now, the portion of supplementary fees (warizeni) shall be collected proportionally as planned. Furthermore, regarding domains of 10,000 koku or more and temple/shrine lands, they should understand the intent of previous proclamations: while cases of actual major damage that are beyond repair are exceptional, in other cases they should perform local public works as much as possible, and while requesting assistance when beyond their capacity is naturally acceptable, they must not frivolously request national public works on ordinary grounds.
