一、町中の様子を見たところ、呉服物店、餅饅頭店、煙草店、蕎麦うどん店、魚類青物店などが数多くありました。その中で蕎麦屋に行き、蕎麦を食べました。蕎麦もうどんも作り方は日本と同じで、風味もほぼ同様でした。店先には麺粉類と書いた看板を掛けてありました。饅頭は豚肉を入れた肉饅頭もあり、また砂糖を入れた饅頭もありました。煮売店は一町四方ほどの間に建ち並び、葦屋根で、昼間だけの出店で、魚類を数多く店に並べている様子は日本と同様でした。

乍浦地方では潮の色が濁っていましたが、その地方を離れたと思われる所から潮の色が清くなり、同年七月十日と覚えている日に日本の地方が見え、伊之助・太吉の乗った船は同月十一日、私の乗った船は同月十三日に長崎へ着船しました。
一、長崎へ入港して湊口へ着いたところ、役人が一人乗った船がやって来て、身上について尋ねられました。摂津国兵庫の中村屋伊兵衛の船に乗り組んでいたと申し上げたところ、「それならば昨年帰朝した善助と同船だったか」とお尋ねになりました。その人の水夫で弥市という者ですと申し上げたところ、すぐにお引き取りになり、湊内へ入港しました。役船に役人方が乗り込み、私共が乗っていた中国船にお乗り移りになって、船上で一通りお尋ねがあり、荷物等をお改めになった後、上陸した際に浜辺で

In the Zhapu region, the seawater was murky, but from what seemed to be away from that region, the seawater became clear. On what I believe was July 10th of that year, the Japanese coastline came into view. The ship carrying Inosuke and Takichi arrived at Nagasaki on the 11th of the same month, and the ship I was on arrived on the 13th of the same month.
