一給物は膳椀に而日々三度ツツ朝は汁香物昼は魚類夕はにしめ物被下候
一揚屋内に而煙草は勝手次第為給火躰並燈火も御入被下候私揚屋に巳七月
十？日ゟ翌午四月廿七日迠罷在候内唐人被建候唐寺二ケ所其外寺社所々
被六度程参詣仕候其節節御役人御両人つつ附参申候小遣料として銭四十八文ツツ

一入湯之義は番人之所に而各々分は月々三度ツツ夏分は日々行水致させ申候

一先達而善助等長崎入津御改等相済揚屋へ参り候日は時の御奉行衆に
御祝儀宛御法事等に而も御座候由に而大に御馳走相来善助等は仕合と之様
当人ゟ之噂承知仕候

下駄一足も下さいました。
一、給食は膳椀で日々三度ずつ、朝は汁と香物、昼は魚類、夕は煮しめ物を下さいました。
一、揚屋内での煙草は勝手次第で、火打ち道具並びに灯火もお入れ下さいました。私が揚屋に巳年七月十三日から翌午年四月二十七日まで滞在している間、中国人のために建てられた唐寺二ヶ所、その他寺社の所々に六度ほど参詣いたしました。その節々に役人がお二人ずつお付き添い申しました。小遣い料として銭四十八文ずつ、その節に下されました。
一、入浴については番人のところで、各々月々三度ずつ、夏の間は日々行水をさせていただきました。
一、髪月代（髪剃り）については月三度ずつお許しで、その節に役人がお出張になりました。

一、正月十八日と七月十八日には銭八十八文ずつ、そうめん代わりということで、何なりと買い調えるようにと下さいました。
一、正月には一升取り位の大小の鏡餅、一重取り、みかん、昆布等をお添え下さいました。十月亥の日には大きな鏡餅同様位で、小豆砂糖入りの餅二つを下さいました。
一、先達って善助等が長崎入津、お改め等が済んで揚屋へ参った日は、時の奉行衆にお祝儀なり御法事等でもあったということで、大変なご馳走となり、善助等は幸せだったと、当人からの噂を承知いたしました。
一、揚屋在住中、月々四、五度ずつ役人がお回りになり、「願いたい品もあれば遠慮なく申し出るように」と仰せ下さり、ありがたいことでございました。

1. At New Year, they provided large and small mirror rice cakes of about one shō measure, along with tangerines, kelp, and other accompaniments. On the Day of the Boar in October, they gave us two rice cakes about the size of large mirror cakes, filled with sweet red beans and sugar.

When Zensuke and others had previously completed their arrival inspection at Nagasaki and came to the detention house, it happened to coincide with congratulatory events or memorial services for the magistrates of the time, so they received an elaborate feast. I heard from the person himself that Zensuke and the others considered it fortunate.
1. During our stay at the detention house, officials made rounds four or five times monthly, graciously telling us to "request without reserve anything you might wish for."
