「右帖」
少も肥しは用ひ不申候南蛮黍出来候て秋之頃牛之皮に而
凡五斗程入致かますに而馬に貳つつ附凡弐拾疋程つつラバス辺
迠江年中に両度つつ売に参り申候牛に相用ひ候唐すき等
之農具日本之通りに御座候
一此辺之山は皆シルボエラとビクヤといふ柎木二色に而御座候
一甘蔗は根株年に其侭に而田地之溝を作り不改水ヲ引年々
両度つつ生長仕候砂糖之製法大様日本通りに御座候得共絞り
上ケ致しるを能焚詰候而厚き板長壱間程巾弐尺程之ものへ指渡

三寸位之丸き穴ヲ彫込有之是取焚詰候しるを投入候得は
此わ時々かたまり申候牛に而甘蔗之しるを取り候儀は日本の通り

一薩摩芋は沢山に作り申候形ち日本同様二御座候
一冬葱は見事成を作り葉先は用ひ不申白根ヲ食様に仕候
一蕃椒之木は廻りは九寸斗高さ三四尺斗に而同うつき唐からしと

肥料は全く使いません。とうもろこしができて秋の頃、牛の皮で作った袋におよそ五斗ほど入れて俵にして、馬に二つずつ付けて、およそ二十匹ほどでロスアンゼルス辺りまで年に二度ずつ売りに行きます。牛に使う唐鋤などの農具は日本と同じです。
一、この辺りの山は皆シルボエラとビクヤという二種類の雑木です。
