明（メイ）-医（イ）は自（じ）-然（ねん）とまぬかるゝは天
の道也。野（ヤ）-巫（ブ）-医（イ）のまぬかるゝは

乳（ウ）-母（バ）禀（ムマレ）-賦（ツキ）の厚（アツキ）き薄（ウスキ）き静（しづか）なる

木を接（ツグ）-様（ヤウ）なものにして乳母に

名医は自然と（そのような不運を）免れるのは天の道理である。野巫医が免れるのは幸運なのである。

乳母の生来の資質が厚いか薄いか、静かな性格か騒がしい性格か、普段の行いの良し悪しを吟味するのがよい。例えば木を接ぎ木するようなもので、乳母に

必ずよく似るものである。おろそかにすることではない。貴人の乳母を取るならば、必ず行いの良い者を探すべきである。世間では乳の多少ばかりを吟味して、その人柄を選ぶに及ばない（ことが多い）。

○On Selecting a Wet Nurse 《Written in two sections》
One should examine whether the wet nurse's natural constitution is robust or weak, whether her temperament is calm or restless, and whether her usual conduct is good or bad. For example, it is like grafting a tree - (the child) will necessarily come to resemble the wet nurse greatly.
