居残候由申立候に付左平外三人共吟味中揚ヶ屋へ
差遣置候右申口之通生所并宗旨寺名歳其外

奥州仙台牡鹿郡石巻の米沢屋平之丞の船「若宮丸」に、前述の通り船頭・水夫たち合計十六人が乗り組み、仙台から江戸方面へ向かう際、その御用木四百本並びに売り米千百石程度を積み込み、石巻港から出帆したところ、暴風に遭い異国へ漂着した。乗組員十六人のうち三人は次々と病死し、九人はその国に留まったと申し立てているため、左平ら四人を取り調べ中の宿泊施設に送り置いた。右記の申し立て通り、出身地並びに宗旨寺の名前、年齢その他、御用木を積み込んで回送した件について相違がないか、早急に確認して報告すべきである。

sixteen people in total, including the captain and sailors as mentioned above, boarded the ship "Wakamiya-maru" belonging to Komeya Heinojō of Ishinomaki, Oshika District, Sendai Province, Ōshū. When traveling from Sendai toward Edo, they loaded approximately 400 pieces of official timber and about 1,100 koku of rice for sale, and departed from Ishinomaki port. However, they encountered a storm and drifted to a foreign country. Of the sixteen crew members, three died of illness one after another, and nine remained in that country, according to their testimony. Therefore, Sahei and the other three have been sent to lodging facilities during their interrogation. Regarding their statements about their birthplaces, sect temples, ages, and other matters, as well as the loading and transport of official timber, it should be quickly confirmed whether there are any discrepancies and a report should be made.
