申候右道筋格別の高山は無之平地多にて川も有
之候得共悉く氷候に付其上を渡り申候夏なとは
数日川留に逢候儀も有之旨及承候此辺冬は
至て寒気強く候故悉く居所に閉篭り罷在候
其内身貧之者或馬士なとは適々（タマ〳〵）外の働いたし
候者も有之右之者共は面部等腫レ痛春に至暖
気に罷成候得は面部腐爛いたし見苦敷御座候
此所ゟは道中馬継も有之其間廿里三十里或は
五六十里百里程ツヽも有之雪車之様成物之上に
箱を取附其中に弐人程ツヽ這入其車を馬弐疋

三疋或は継場遠き所は四疋も五疋も差出昼夜挽
せ右馬に風鈴を付置継場へ参候得は其音を
承付馬を差出尤右車も継場にて継替候事も
有之候得共漂流人共乗り候車は継通之車にて
馬斗継替申候此辺ゟ名は失念大河有之多分
川縁を行又は陸地にもかゝり勿論此川夏は通船
有之多分船にて往返いたし候由之処其砌は川水一面に
氷候故其上を車にて被挽此川「ヱリカーツカ」と申所迄
凡弐千五百里程有之幅狭き所にては日本里数
三里余も可有之又広き所にては際り相見不申

三匹、或いは継ぎ場の遠い所では四匹も五匹も出して昼夜引かせる。その馬に風鈴を付けておき、継ぎ場へ来るとその音を聞いて馬を出す。もちろんその車も継ぎ場で乗り換えることもあるが、漂流人たちの乗る車は継ぎ通しの車で、馬だけ乗り換える。この辺りから名前は忘れたが大河があり、多くは川縁を行き、また陸地にもかかる。もちろんこの川は夏は船が通っており、多くは船で往復するということだが、その時（冬）は川水が一面に氷っているので、その上を車で引かれる。この川から「エリカーツカ」という所まで約二千五百里程あり、幅の狭い所では日本の里数で三里余りもあろうし、また広い所では対岸が見えない。

From this area, there is a large river whose name I have forgotten, and they mostly travel along the riverbank or sometimes over land.
