千八百四年九月三日当七月廿九日「カムシヤカツ
ト」に至り同九月十日当八月七日同所ゟ出帆今
日迄三十一日海上を経無別条着岸仕候右一
艘之外類船無御座候
一今般使節之役人渡来仕候儀はオロシヤ国王
より江府え之呈書并御奉行えは右写持
越候段申出候付右書翰沖御出役御検使え
指出候様申聞候処本書は江府表え使節之者
持参呈上写書は御奉行所へ罷出指上候様国
王ゟ命を請来候付何分他之御方へは附属難

於蝦夷地信牌を賜候御礼申上んため今般使
節を以捧献貢江府拝礼相勤前以御当地え
自国之信儀を結ひ且交易之儀に付心願之筋
も御座候
一本船乗組八十五人之内日本人四人オロシヤ人八十
一人外に乗組人数無御座候右日本人之儀は十二
年已前オロシヤ国へ漂流仕候に付連渡申候右
之段オロシヤ国船方長之者申出候右は国王
より捧候書翰之主意当節来朝仕候オロシヤ

に到着し、同年9月10日（当時の暦で8月7日）同地より出帆、今
日まで31日間海上を航行し、何事もなく着岸いたしました。右の1
艘以外に類似の船はございません。
一、今回使節の役人が渡来いたしました件は、ロシア国王
より江戸への呈書並びに奉行へはその写しを持参して
参りました旨申し出ましたので、右の書簡を沖の御出役御検使へ
提出するよう申し聞かせましたところ、本書は江戸表へ使節の者が
持参して呈上し、写書は奉行所へ出向いて提出するよう国
王より命令を受けて参りましたので、何分他の御方へは付属し難

い旨申し上げました。これにより右の呈書の大意を尋ねましたところ、先年
蝦夷地において信牌を賜りました御礼を申し上げるため、今回使
節を以って貢物を捧げ、江戸で拝礼を勤め、前もって当地で
自国との信義を結び、かつ交易の件について心願の筋
もございます。
一、本船乗組85人の内、日本人4人、ロシア人81
人、外に乗組人数はございません。右の日本人の件は12
年以前にロシア国へ漂流いたしましたので連れて渡って参りました。右の
件をロシア国船方長の者が申し出ました。右は国王
より捧げる書簡の主意で、当節来朝いたしましたロシア

On September 3rd, 1804 (July 29th by the Japanese calendar), [we] arrived at "Kamchatka,"
and on September 10th of the same year (August 7th by the Japanese calendar) departed from the same location. After
31 days at sea until today, [we] have landed safely without incident. There are
no other similar vessels besides this one ship.
Item 1: Regarding the envoy officials who have come this time, [they] are from the Russian sovereign
carrying a letter of credence to Edo as well as a copy for the magistrate,
as stated upon [their] arrival. When [we] told them to submit said correspondence to the offshore inspector,
[they replied that] the original document was to be brought to Edo by the envoy for presentation, while the copy was to be submitted at the magistrate's office, as
commanded by the sovereign, and therefore it would be difficult to entrust it to any other authority.

Accordingly, when [we] inquired about the general meaning of said letter of credence, [they stated that] in previous years
[they] received a credential in Ezo territory, and in order to express gratitude for this, [they] now come with an envoy
to present tribute and pay respects in Edo, and beforehand wish to establish
diplomatic relations with [our] country at this location, and also have
requests regarding matters of trade.
Item 1: Of the 85 crew members aboard this vessel, there are 4 Japanese and 81
Russians, with no other crew members. Regarding these Japanese, [they]
drifted to Russia 12 years ago, so [the Russians] have brought them along. The
Russian naval officer reported this matter. This concerns the main intent of the letter presented by the sovereign, [regarding] the Russian [mission that] has now come to court.
