此段は私共出船之節武具類決て船積不仕船
頭平兵衛儀脇差一腰所持いたし候得共難船之

并仙台御役人中ゟ之送状伊勢祓等船頭所持

彼の国滞在中に商売に関わるようなことをしなかったかという趣旨で、これもまた取り調べがありました。
この点については、私たちは出船の際に武器類は決して船に積み込みませんでした。船頭の平兵衛は脇差一腰を所持していましたが、難船の際に立願のために海中へ捨てました。また銭十五貫三百文が船中にありましたが、これもまた打ち捨てました。それ以外に脇差や金銀等を所持したことはなく、商売に関わることは決してしていません。
一、往来切手や札守等を所持していたかという趣旨で取り調べがありました。
この点については、私たちは往来切手は所持していませんでしたが、浦賀の切手や仙台の役人からの送状、伊勢祓等を船頭が所持して

We were also questioned about whether we had engaged in any commercial activities during our stay in that country.
Regarding this matter, we absolutely did not load any weapons aboard when we departed. The ship captain Heibei possessed one wakizashi (short sword), but during the shipwreck he discarded it into the sea as an offering. We also had 15 kan and 300 mon of coins aboard the ship, but these were also abandoned. Apart from this, we possessed no wakizashi, gold, silver, or other valuables, and we absolutely did not engage in any commercial activities.
1. We were questioned about whether we possessed travel permits, protective amulets, and similar items.
Regarding this matter, although we did not possess travel permits, the captain had in his possession permits from Uraga, escort letters from Sendai officials, Ise purification amulets, and such items,
