其外大造の品物五種程用意いたし来候由右に准

し美々敷品物山の如く有之商売物は少しも持渡不申候
御奉書写
我国昔ヨリ海外ニ通問スル諸国少カラスト云ヘトモ事
便宜ニ非ルガ故ニ厳禁ヲ設ケテ外国ノ売物輙ク
我国ニ来ルヿヲ許サス強テ来ル海舶有ト云ヘトモ固ク
退ケテ入レス只唐山朝鮮琉球紅毛ノミ往来スルヿトス
互市ノ利ヲ必トスルニ非ス来ルヿノ久シキ素ヨリ其
謂レヲ以テナリ其国ノ如キハ昔ヨリ未タ曽テ信ヲ
通セシ事ナシ不図ルニ前年漂舶ノ人ヲ誘ヒテ松前
ニ来リテ通商ヲ乞今又長崎ニ到リテ好ミヲ通シ

美しい品物が山のようにあり、商売物は少しも持ち渡っていません。
御奉書の写し
我が国は昔より海外に通問する諸国は少なくないとはいえ、事
情により便宜でないため厳禁を設けて外国の売物が軽々しく
我が国に来ることを許さない。強いて来る海舶があるといえども固く
退けて入れない。ただ唐山（中国）・朝鮮・琉球・紅毛（オランダ）のみが往来することとしている。
互市（貿易）の利を必要とするからではない。来ることが久しく、もとよりその
理由によるものである。その国（ロシア）のような国は昔より未だかつて信を
通じたことがない。図らずも前年漂流船の人を誘って松前
に来て通商を乞い、今また長崎に到って好誼を通そうと

Copy of the official letter
Although our country has had correspondence with many countries overseas since ancient times, due to circumstances
it is not convenient, so we have established strict prohibitions and do not allow foreign merchandise to easily
enter our country. Even if there are ships that forcibly come, we firmly
turn them away and do not let them enter. Only China, Korea, Ryukyu, and the Dutch are allowed to come and go.
This is not because we require the profits of trade. Their coming has been long-established, and this is naturally based on that
precedent. A country like that one (Russia) has never previously
established trust [with us]. Unexpectedly, last year they brought drifting ship people and came to Matsumae
requesting trade, and now again they have arrived at Nagasaki seeking to establish friendly relations
