月を国人吉月と名つけて。婦女海辺に出。水神を拝
して福を祈ると。伝信録に載たり。
○二月十二日。家〳〵にて浚井し。女子は井の水を汲て。
額を洗ふ。如此すれば。疾病を免るゝとなり此月や【也ヵ】。土
筆（し）萌出。海棠。春菊。百合の花。満開し。蟋蟀（こほろき）鳴（なく）

月也。沙魚（わにざめ）。岸に登りて鹿となり。鹿また暑を畏るゝ
故。海辺に出て水を咂（ふく）み。亦化して沙魚となる。桔梗。扶
桑花開く。
○七月十三日。門外に迎火の炬火を照らして先祖を迎
へ十五日の盆供など。日本と替りたる事なし此月。竜眼
肉実を結ぶ。
○八月十五夜。月を拝す。白露を八月の節句とし
赤飯を作て相 餉（をく）る其前後三日ヶ間。男女戸を閉て
業を休む。是を守天孫と号す。此間に角口（いさかひ）などすれば
かならす蛇に囓るゝとなり木芙蓉花さく。
○九月梅花開き。霜始て降り。雷声を収め蛇はなはだ
害を為す。此月の蛇に傷（きず）つけらるれば。立どころに死す
故に。八月の守天孫に。三日が間つゝしむなり。田は尽く

羊躑躅（つつじ）は殊更見事である。元日に王宮の花瓶に挿すのが恒例であるという。蛇がはじめて穴を出て、はじめて雷が鳴り、雷がその声を発する。枇杷の実が熟し、元朝にこれを食べる。正月・三月・五月・九月の四ヶ月を国人は吉月と名付けて、婦女は海辺に出て水神を拝し福を祈るという。伝信録に記載されている。
○二月十二日、家々で井戸を浚い、女子は井戸の水を汲んで額を洗う。このようにすれば疾病を免れるという。この月、土筆が萌え出て、海棠、春菊、百合の花が満開し、蟋蟀が鳴く。
○三月、上巳の節句として往来し、艾糕を作って贈る。石竹、薔薇、罌粟がともに花咲き、紫蘇が生じ、麦が実り、虹がはじめて見える。

○七月十三日、門外に迎え火の松明を照らして先祖を迎え、十五日の盆供養など、日本と変わったことはない。この月、竜眼が実を結ぶ。

Azaleas (sheep azaleas) are especially magnificent. It is customary to place them in palace vases on New Year's Day. Snakes first emerge from their holes, thunder first rumbles, and thunder issues its voice. Loquat fruits ripen, and these are eaten on New Year's morning. The people call the four months of first, third, fifth, and ninth months auspicious months, when women go to the seaside to worship water deities and pray for good fortune. This is recorded in the Denshiroku.

○There is a festival in the sixth month (this must be a day that falls during the sixth month festival). They steam glutinous rice and send it as gifts. In this month, sharks come ashore and become deer, and deer, also fearing the heat, go to the seaside to drink water and transform back into sharks. Balloon flowers and hibiscus bloom.
