現代語訳
水練は堅運なる人の稽古しに来ること、その上弱なるやからは夏も水は冷たいの風を引くのともて、水を飲んではあたるの色が黒くなるのといって稽古せぬことなれども、皆裸心がけ〔判読不明〕れば客様の人のためとて、水練の稽古所をこしらえ十間に三間の湯船を作りて
稽古させる。これはよほど来る人もありしが、稽古する人も物入りにかかり、こなたも薪が大層に入るゆえ、損が行くことにて、自然に引いてやめになりけり。
