一　長病で御番に勤めることが困難な者は、六ヶ月を過ぎた場合、百石につき毎月五人ずつ役人足を出すこと。十五人扶持の面々は百石取りと同様とする。ただし正月・極月の両月は免除し、残り十ヶ月について右の通り

1. When going elsewhere for personal business, consult with one's supervising authority, and for all others, report to the metsuke officials before departing.

1. Also, when being dispatched to distant places, one must report to the metsuke officials.

1. The guard duty attendance records of the castle shall be examined by the metsuke officials.

1. If there is a person with sudden illness during guard duty, this should be communicated through one's fellow guards.

1. If one withdraws due to illness, this must be reported to the metsuke officials.

1. Those with chronic illness who find it difficult to perform guard duty shall, after six months have passed, provide five laborers per month for every hundred koku of stipend. Those with fifteen-person stipends shall be treated the same as those receiving one hundred koku. However, the months of New Year and year-end are exempted, so for the remaining ten months, the above applies.
