最初江戸では誰も知らない相撲取りであったけれど、京へ上ってより、だんだんと御出世。今ではどこの田舎も吉益流。婆も親父も傷寒には先生がよいと申します。しばらくの取組であったけれど、東の方が土俵へ出られたところで、勝ちは東洞。

The techniques of this school are tremendously skillful.
Initially in Edo, he was a wrestler whom no one knew, but after going up to Kyoto, he gradually achieved success. Now everywhere in the countryside follows the Yoshimasu school. Even grandmothers and fathers say that for typhoid fever, this teacher is good. Though it was a brief match, when the eastern side entered the ring, the victory went to Tōdō.
