なんだそんな事は乞食でもする。豆
と徳利はどふだ。出来たか【囲み字】行司 なる程
御両人の御あらそひも。御もつとも
な事。大庾には何事によらず。技芸（ぎげい）
によく。わたられたと申事なれど。爰
では徳か智か。又は豪勇（がうやう）か志の事を
評じますれば。ぐだ〳〵と。小間物みせの
やふに引出すにもおよびませぬ。一寸
論じます所が。赤草紙の八人芸。
能く。俗にとれる御趣向。素読（そどく）が済（すむ）か
すまぬに。見識（けんしき）だてをなさる二本 棒（ぼう）
より。一日の論ではござらぬ。九述の
中孝経論語は見ましたが。あとの
七述はどふあるやら【囲み字】わる口 妹の御かげ
現代語訳
なんだそんな事は乞食でもする。豆

御両人の御争いも、御もっとも
な事。大庾には何事によらず、技芸
によく通われたと申す事なれど、ここ
では徳か智か、又は豪勇か志の事を
評じますれば、ぐだぐだと、小間物店の
ように引き出すにも及びません。ちょっと
論じます所が、赤草紙の八人芸。
よく、俗に取れる御趣向。素読が済む
済まないに、見識立てをなさる二本棒
より、一朝の論ではございません。九述の
中、孝経論語は見ましたが、あとの
七述はどうあるやら【囲み字】悪口 妹の御陰

when we evaluate whether it concerns virtue, wisdom, or courage and aspiration,
there is no need to drag things out tediously like
a sundry goods shop. What I briefly
discuss here is the eight arts of the akagami (red books).
Well, this is a concept that appeals to the common people. Rather than those two-bit
know-it-alls who put on airs about their discernment over whether
basic reading is completed or not, this is not a matter for
superficial debate. Among the nine classics,
I have examined the Classic of Filial Piety and the Analects, but
