乍恐以書付奉願上候御事
一 私儀無高之者に御座候故只今迄村方にて日用取
仕候て罷在申候得共渡世難送り難儀至極仕候に付
今年ゟ石切山室村幸七に弟子に罷成旅稼仕度

仰付被下置候はゝ難有仕合奉存候以上

Item: I am a person without landholdings (mukō), and until now I have been making a living doing day labor in the village. However, making ends meet has become extremely difficult and I am in great hardship. Therefore, starting this year, I would like to become an apprentice to Kōshichi of Yamumuro Village, who is a stonecutter, and engage in migrant work. I humbly submit this petition. If you would mercifully grant my request as petitioned, I would consider it a most grateful blessing. The above.
