現代語訳
絵師そうしやは版木屋衆々の化け物に悩まされ、今はどうしようもなく蔵の戸前を押し開き、蔵の内へ逃げ入ろうとしたところ、不思議なことに蔵から稲妻繋ぎの雲気が発し、正本の親玉である坂田の金平、渡辺の武綱、碓井若丸、鉢かつぎ姫が化け物どもを踏み散らす。
「南無三宝、化け物に金物、嫌な奴が出た。早く逃げよう」と、ましだの将が言う。
「ご免、ご免。こう踏みつけられては、頭が大木の切り口のように痛いのだ」
「戸前の悪を今や今やと待っていたぞ。貴様、雷剣もどきをやっても逃がすべきか」
「ああ、切ない。どら焼き、さつま芋は死ぬ時も一緒と見えた。因果報応、腐れ縁だぞ」
英語訳
The artist Soshiya, tormented by the monsters of the woodblock makers, now had no choice but to push open the storehouse door and tried to escape into the storehouse. Mysteriously, lightning-linked clouds emerged from the storehouse, and the main characters from the original stories - Sakata no Kinpira, Watanabe no Taketsuna, Usui Wakamaru, and Princess Hachikazuki - scattered the monsters by trampling them.
