琉球は古昔、呼んで宇留間島という。また宇留間迺久爾、屋其惹島、阿児奈波島（阿児は恐らく阿鬼の誤りであろう。或いは訳して沖縄に作る）という。また南海の諸島を呼んで南島といい、後に南島白石阿甑黑島硫礦等の島嶼を総てこれを鬼界島又は魚島という。薩摩国を距る

The Tenson Dynasty
In ancient times, Ryukyu was called Uruma Island. It was also called Uruma-no-kuni, Yakibi Island, and Akonaha Island (Ako is probably a mistake for Aoni, or it may be translated as Okinawa). The islands of the southern sea were also called Nantō (Southern Islands), and later the islands of Nantō, Shiraishi, Agoshima, Kuroshima, Iōjima and others were collectively called Kikaijima or Uoshima.
