一、両聘使登城の道筋は、松平薩摩守の幸橋屋敷まで今朝
赴き、それより松平丹後守屋敷の脇、酒井石見守屋敷の脇を
前に、相馬讃岐守・阿部民部屋敷の間より霞ヶ関坂を
通り、井伊掃部頭の裏門より御堀端外桜田御門より
秋元但馬守・間部越前守屋敷前より和田倉御門、井上
河内守屋敷の腰掛裏通り、大手御門より登城した。右の
従者並びに供の族の行列等は薩摩守が申し付けた道筋で、御徒
二組が警衛し、道筋の面々より屋敷前の警固が出た。
一、正使は輿に乗り従者は騎馬で、大手橋の先にて下馬し、使者に随い
正使は下乗橋の前にて輿より下乗した。但し旗持ち・鋒
持ちその外の役人は大手腰掛に残らず相残った。

1. The route for both envoys' ascent to the castle: This morning they proceeded to Lord Matsudaira Satsuma-no-kami's Kōbashi residence, then via the side of Lord Matsudaira Tango-no-kami's residence, passing by the side of Lord Sakai Iwami-no-kami's residence, through between Lord Soma Sanuki-no-kami's and Lord Abe Minbu's residences, passing through Kasumigaseki slope, from the back gate of Lord Ii Kamon-no-kami through the outer moat area via Sakurada Gate, from in front of Lord Akimoto Tajima-no-kami's and Lord Manabe Echizen-no-kami's residences via Wadakura Gate, through the back street of Lord Inoue Kawachi-no-kami's residence rest area, and entered the castle through Ōte Gate. The retainers and accompanying clan members in procession followed the route designated by Satsuma-no-kami, with two groups of御徒 (castle guards) providing security, and guards from the various residences along the route came out to provide security in front of their residences.
1. The chief envoy rode in a palanquin while his retainers were on horseback. They dismounted beyond Ōte Bridge and followed the messenger. The chief envoy dismounted from his palanquin in front of Gejō Bridge. However, the flag bearers, spear bearers, and other officials all remained at the Ōte rest area.
