一、琉球来翰返翰之写《割書：但御返翰は御暇之節被下之》
謹んで尺楮を裁して閣下に呈上し恭しく聞く
貴国
大君新たに国統を紹ぎて四海昇平にして万祥ことごとく臻るが如き吾が小邦もまた華封の祝に效わざらんや。今茲特に小臣美里王子を遣わして腆からざる方物を捧げ我が薩摩の少将吉貴に従って謹んで奉る

Humbly composing this letter to present to Your Excellency, I respectfully state:
In your noble country, the Great Lord has newly succeeded to the national leadership, and as the four seas enjoy ascending peace and all auspicious omens have arrived, how could our small nation not also offer congratulations like those of the Chinese realm? Now, I especially dispatch my minister Prince Misato, offering humble tribute goods, and respectfully present them following our lord of Satsuma, Major General Yoshitaka.
