賀儀を申し上げ、伏して願わくは諸大老が受納されんことを、ひとえに台聴に達せられれば、どうして恐懼感激の至りに堪えられましょうか。誠に恐れ多く申し上げきれません。

恭しく書状を修めて微志を表し奉る。去年薩摩太守少将吉貴が鈞命の旨に遵い依って、寡夫が先人の業を嗣ぐことを許され、敝国に異変なく、歓びこの上もなし。茲に洪恩を拝謝せんと欲し、吉貴に従い小臣豊見城王子をして輶藝の士を献上す。宜しく伏して願わくは諸大老の指教を以て、ひとえに台聴に達せられれば、感激の至りに勝えず。誠に恐れ多く備わらず。

I humbly present congratulatory ceremonies, and prostrating myself, I hope that the honorable senior councilors will receive and accept them. If this is conveyed solely to your noble attention, how could I bear the utmost reverence and gratitude? I am truly in awe and cannot fully express myself.

Respectfully composing this letter to express my humble intentions. Last year, Satsuma Lord Major General Yoshitaka, in accordance with the imperial command, permitted this humble person to succeed to the work of my predecessors, and with no disturbances in our poor country, our joy knows no bounds. Now, wishing to bow in gratitude for this great benevolence, following Yoshitaka, I have my retainer Prince Tomigusuku present tribute bearers. I humbly hope that through the guidance of the honorable senior councilors, if this is conveyed solely to your noble attention, I cannot contain my utmost gratitude. I am truly in awe and inadequately prepared.
