大使美里王子が来て珢函を接受し、遥かに御代始を聞き、即座に方物を献じて進賀いたします。特に仰せの旨があり、礼待が常儀を超え、誠にこれは賢藩の栄幸であります。
賜物は目録の通りで、帰使に附して終わりました。事の詳細は薩摩中将への報知にあります。誠に恐れ多く不備であります。

The chief envoy Prince Misato came and received the ceremonial box. Hearing from afar of the beginning of the new reign, we immediately presented tribute goods as congratulations. There were special imperial instructions, and the ceremonial treatment exceeded the usual protocol. This is truly the honor and good fortune of our worthy domain.
The bestowed gifts are as listed in the catalog, and have been sent back with the returning envoys. The details of these matters are in the report to the Satsuma Lieutenant General. We are truly in awe and inadequately prepared.
