御門前御堀端幸橋屋敷際夫より日比谷御門

通大平御門より登 城行列幷道筋警衛等は如前

十一月二十三日
一、琉球国中山王の両使が御暇を願い出て、城に登った。
一、両使は松平薩摩守の芝屋敷より増上寺表通町へ、芝口御門前、御堀端、幸橋屋敷際、それから日比谷御門、八代洲河岸通り、龍ノ口、井上河内守屋敷前で腰掛けした後、通町大手御門より登城した。行列並びに道筋の警備等は前回の通りである。
一、使者並びに従者は下乗・下馬し、先日の通り御玄関から階上の板縁まで進み、大目付が出向いて指図を行った。殿上之間の下段に着座し、従者は同じく次之間に列居した。下級官僚は御玄関前の庭上に群居した。
一、今日の御規式に付き出仕した面々は、侍従以上は直垂、四品は狩衣、諸大夫は大紋、無官は素袍、御役人は布衣を着用した。
一、松平薩摩守は先だって登城し、殿上之間の下段に着座した。
一、大広間に御出御された。御直垂は紅紗である。

November 23rd
1. The two envoys of the King of Chuzan of the Ryukyu Kingdom requested permission to take leave and ascended to the castle.
1. The two envoys proceeded from Matsudaira Satsuma-no-kami's Shiba residence to Zojoji Omotedori-cho, via Shibaguchi Gate, along the moat embankment, past Saiwai Bridge residence, then through Hibiya Gate, along Yashiro-su riverbank street, past Tatsuno-kuchi and the residence of Inoue Kawachi-no-kami where they rested, and finally entered the castle through Otemon Gate. The procession and security along the route were as before.
1. The envoys and their attendants dismounted and proceeded as on the previous day from the main entrance to the wooden veranda on the upper floor, where the chief inspector (ometsuke) came out to give directions. They were seated in the lower section of the Hall of Nobles (Tonojouma), while their attendants lined up in the adjacent room. Lower officials gathered in the courtyard in front of the main entrance.
1. For today's ceremony, those in attendance wore the following: those of courtier rank and above wore hitatare court dress, fourth-rank officials wore hunting robes (kariginu), senior officials wore formal crested robes (daimon), those without court rank wore plain robes (suho), and government officials wore hemp court dress (nui).
1. Matsudaira Satsuma-no-kami had previously ascended to the castle and was seated in the lower section of the Hall of Nobles.
1. The lord made his appearance in the Great Hall wearing a red silk hitatare court dress.
