 吹之帰之節も御本坊前より仁王門迄楽に而通る也 一御宮え参詣相済而御本坊え参上殿上之車寄より  上り正使両副使二人通事二人は御白書院え通り正使  二人は上之間下段着座副使二人は畳二畳程下に着  座通事二人は末席に着座正使口上申上御茶御  菓子被下御代替に付而之使者口上之趣取次大西  宮内卿矢田部長門守両人則御返答島津帯刀え  被申渡之帯刀は通事え申聞通事亦美里王  子え御口上之旨申達之 一中山王自分代替之使者口上之趣吉川大蔵卿曽祢崎  内蔵権頭両人取次則御返答右之通島津帯刀え  被申渡又右之趣豊見城王子え御口上之旨申達 一従者之中官楽童子等は殿上之大広間上之間より  二之間迄二行に列居此外三十人之内黄巾之者八人  後に列居御殿退去に而明王院え帰暫時休息  饗応有之 一薩摩守も明王院え出居 一本多弾正少弼森川出羽守仙石丹波守折井淡路守各  東叡山え相詰   東照宮え    御太刀        一腰    御馬代銀       二十枚

吹奏し、帰りの際も御本坊前より仁王門まで楽を奏でて通るのである。 一、御宮への参詣が済んで御本坊へ参上し、殿上の車寄より上がって、正使両副使二人、通事二人は御白書院へ通り、正使二人は上の間下段に着座、副使二人は畳二畳ほど下に着座、通事二人は末席に着座した。正使が口上を申し上げ、お茶とお菓子を下された。御代替に付いての使者の口上の趣旨を、取次の大西宮内卿、矢田部長門守両人がすぐに御返答を島津帯刀へ申し渡した。帯刀は通事へ申し聞かせ、通事はまた美里王子へ御口上の旨を申し伝えた。 一、中山王自分の代替の使者の口上の趣旨を、吉川大蔵卿、曽祢崎内蔵権頭両人が取り次ぎ、すぐに御返答を右の通り島津帯刀へ申し渡し、また右の趣旨を豊見城王子へ御口上の旨を申し伝えた。 一、従者の中で官楽童子等は、殿上の大広間上の間より二の間まで二行に列座し、このほか三十人の内、黄巾の者八人が後に列座した。御殿退去にて明王院へ帰り、暫時休息し饗応があった。 一、薩摩守も明王院へ出向いていた。 一、本多弾正少弼、森川出羽守、仙石丹波守、折井淡路守各々が東叡山へ詰めていた。   東照宮へ    御太刀        一腰    御馬代銀       二十枚

After completing their visit to the shrine, they proceeded to the main temple quarters, ascending via the carriage entrance of the palace. The chief envoy, both vice-envoys, and two interpreters were led to the White Study Hall. The two chief envoys were seated on the lower level of the upper room, the two vice-envoys were seated about two tatami mats lower, and the two interpreters were seated at the end seats. The chief envoys delivered their formal address and were served tea and sweets. The substance of the envoys' formal address regarding the shogunal succession was relayed by the intermediaries Onishi Kunaikyo and Yatabe Nagato-no-kami, and the immediate reply was conveyed to Shimazu Tateaki. Tateaki informed the interpreters, and the interpreters in turn conveyed the substance of the formal response to Prince Misato. 1. The substance of the formal address by the envoys regarding the succession of the King of Chuzan himself was relayed by Yoshikawa Okura-kyo and Sonesaki Kuranosuke, and the immediate reply was conveyed to Shimazu Tateaki in the same manner, and the substance was also conveyed as a formal response to Prince Tomigusuku. 1. Among the retainers, the court musicians and young attendants were arranged in two rows from the upper room to the second room of the great hall in the palace. In addition, among the thirty people, eight wearing yellow headbands were seated in the rear. Upon departing the palace, they returned to Myooin Temple for a brief rest and were provided with hospitality. 1. Satsuma-no-kami was also present at Myooin Temple. 1.
