差上申一札之事
一 当村石切之儀村中不残取調書上仕候所
此外壱人茂無御座候尤石切稼ニ罷出旅先ニ而
石切弟子召抱不申候猶又商売先実躰ニ相
廻可申候様具ニ申聞候処一々承知仕奉得
其意候若此上ニ茂不吟味成義有之候而
後日被 成御聞及候ハヽ其元より早速御注
進可被成候其上如何様之御咎筋被 仰付候
共少茂御恨無御座候為後日連印一札
仍而如件

差し上げ申し上げる一札の件
一、当村の石切について、村中残らず取り調べて書き上げいたしましたところ、この他に一人もおりません。もっとも石切稼ぎに出向いた旅先では石切弟子を召し抱えることはいたしません。なお商売先では実直に働くよう詳しく申し聞かせましたところ、一つ一つ承知いたしその旨を理解いたしております。もしこの上にも調べが不十分な件があって、後日お聞き及びになりましたら、その者よりすぐに御注進いたします。その上でどのような御咎めを仰せ付けられましても少しも御恨みはございません。後日のため連印で一札を差し上げます。

Document of Pledge Submitted
One matter: Regarding the stone cutters of our village, we have investigated all throughout the village and submitted a written report. There are no others besides these. Although they go out to earn their living as stone cutters, they do not take apprentice stone cutters while traveling. Furthermore, we have instructed them in detail to conduct themselves honestly at their places of business, and they have acknowledged and understood each point. Should there be any matter we have insufficiently investigated that comes to your attention later, that person will immediately report it to you. Moreover, whatever punishment you may impose upon us, we harbor no resentment whatsoever. We submit this jointly signed pledge for future reference.
