　蕉-扇円-者￣ヲ為＿二日-扇￣ト＿一。男-子用￣ユ＿レ之￣ヲ。婦-人用￣ル者￣ハ。欠￣テ＿二其￣ノ傍￣ヲ＿一如￣クス＿二欠-

現代語訳

灯《蝋燭》
蝋燭の灯は木製の底が四方格子状になっている。上が広く下が狭い。白紙を糊付けしている。そして上部を空けている。木の柄を施して柱の上に釘で留める。大風であっても蝋燭が消えることがない。王宮内で用いるものは皆このようである。
民間の灯は多く蝋燭を用いない。木で灯を作る。四方に紙を糊付けし、木座を高くして油皿をその中に籠める。地席の上に置く。蝋燭は黄蝋のようであるが色は黒い。国中に油樹がある。その実を取って搾って油を作る。

扇
蕉扇の円いものを日扇という。男子が用いる。婦人が用いるものは、その傍を欠いて欠月の状のようにする。月扇と名付ける。

摺畳扇を櫂子扇と名付ける。すなわち倭扇である。皆単辺で寛辺のものは無い。粗細は等しくない。絶佳なものもある。本国の官民は冬夏にこれを用い、大帯の間に横に挿して飾りとする。また折腰扇がある。扇骨を両截し、下合上開く。僧人の用いるところである。

Lamps [Candles]
The candle lamps have wooden bases with square lattice patterns. They are wide at the top and narrow at the bottom. White paper is pasted on them, and the top is left open. A wooden handle is attached and nailed to the top of a post. Even in strong winds, the candles do not go out. All those used in the royal palace are like this.
Most civilian lamps do not use candles. They make lamps from wood, pasting paper on all four sides and raising the wooden base to contain an oil dish inside. They are placed on floor mats. The candles are like yellow wax but black in color. There are oil trees throughout the country. They take the seeds and press them to make oil.

Fans
Round banana-leaf fans are called sun fans. Men use them. Those used by women have their sides cut to resemble the shape of a crescent moon. They are called moon fans.

Folding fans are called paddle fans. These are Japanese fans. They all have single edges with no wide borders. The quality varies from coarse to fine. Some are exceptionally fine. Officials and commoners of this country use them in winter and summer, inserting them horizontally between their wide sashes as decoration. There are also bent-waist fans. The fan ribs are cut in two sections, closed at the bottom and open at the top. These are used by Buddhist monks.
