現代語訳

而光沢がある。一名常盤木。樹は真っ直ぐに上に伸びて丈余りの長さになる。四季を通じて枯れない。葉は
緑色に染めることができる。小さな黄色い花を開く。実を結んで橘のようである。食べられる。また一木がある。土地の名前は呀
喇菩（ヤラブ）。葉は皆福木に似る。また対節に生える。白い花は梅に似る。十一・十二月に実る。
ともに君子樹と呼ばれる。《割書：葉の紋様が対になって織物のようである。中辺が日に映えて、透明になって金黄色を作す。旧伝に闘鏤樹の葉は橘のようとある。当に即ちこれである。》
【鉄樹】即ち鳳尾蕉。一名海棗。櫚の身に蕉の葉である。葉は堅く真っ直ぐで対になって出る。輪
郭がぼんやりして鳳の尾のようである。日に映えて中心に一線があり、虚明で影がない。四季を通じて枯れない。あちこちに

【烏木（クロキ）】葉は桂のように真っ直ぐに上る。外は普通の木と異ならない。中心の木質は黒色である。しかし
また白い木理を持つものもある。また紅木（アカキ）もある。
【油樹】葉は橘に似る。実は橘の大きさのようである。食べられない。用いて油を搾る。また福満
木がある。樹の高さは数尺。葉は木槿にやや似るが少し小さい。花は橘のようである。子は房々として赤色。
食べられる。また樹がある。葉は冬青に似る。高さ丈余り。花は棗のようである。子は房々として生える。中
国の女貞子のようである。甘酸っぱくて食べられる。また物を染めて青蓮色を作ることができる。山米と名づける。また
野麻姑当と名づける。即ち青精である。
【古巴梯斯（クハテイシ）】樹の高さ二・三丈余り。葉の大きさは柿のようである。葉の花は五椏。八・九
月に実る。青果のようだが少し平たい。味は香甘である。閩中にこれがある。戊土と名づける。
【右納（ユナ）】樹の高さ三・四丈余り。葉は白桐に似る。夏の季に花を開く。中国の秋
葵のようである。黄色い花弁で檀心である。

【Oil Tree】Leaves resemble oranges. The fruit is like the size of oranges. Not edible. Used to press oil. There is also fukuman
tree. The tree height is several feet. Leaves somewhat resemble hibiscus but are slightly smaller. Flowers are like oranges. Seeds are clustered and red.
Edible. There is another tree. Leaves resemble winter green. Height over ten feet. Flowers are like jujube. Seeds grow in clusters. Like Chi-
na's privet seeds. Sweet and sour, edible. Can also be used to dye things blue-lotus color. Called yamamai. Also

months. Like green fruit but somewhat flattened. Taste is fragrant and sweet. Found in Fujian. Called bodo.
【Indian Mulberry (Yuna)】Tree height over thirty to forty feet. Leaves resemble paulownia. Opens flowers in summer season. Like China's autumn
mallow. Yellow petals with sandalwood center.
