　[雷山花]土-名古-茄。葉如＿二鉄-梗海-棠￣ノ＿一。花如￣ニシテ＿二牽-牛-花￣ノ＿一差（ヤヽ）-小。
　鴉-翠-色。四-五-月￣ニ開。至￣テ＿二 十-一-月￣ニ＿一結＿レ子￣ヲ如＿レ豆￣ノ。苞如￣シ＿二榴-房￣ノ＿一。蔵￣ムルヿ
　＿レ子￣ヲ数-十-粒。可＿レ種￣ユ。

現代語訳

【名護蘭】葉は短くて厚い。柱葉と同じである。大きさはわずかに指のようである。三、四月に花を開く。蘭と異なることがない。一箭に八、九朶が攢開する。香りは清らかでますます勝る。蘭は名護岳の巌石の間に出る。水土を仮らない。或いは樹椏の上に寄生し、或いは棕皮で包んでこれを懸ける。また風蘭がある。葉は蘭に比べてやや長い。香りは山奈茴香のようである。竹を蔑いて盆とし、風前に懸け挂ける。極めて蕃衍しやすい。俗皆蘭を尚ぶ。号して孔子花とする。

【粟蘭】一名芷蘭。葉は鳳尾のようである。花は珍珠のようである。蘭にまた松蘭、竹蘭、棒蘭がある。《割書：状は珊瑚樹のようである。緑色で葉がない。花は椏間から出る。蘭に似ているがやや小さい。》

【野牡丹】土名𦬯花。葉は牡丹と異なることがない。二、三月に花が開いて叢を作る。纍々として鈴鐸のようである。素弁紫暈檀心。碗の大きさのようである。極めて芳烈。その葉を嚼んでこれを以て口香とする。種は大平山に出る。また野海棠、仙人竿、箒桃、野蘭がある。《割書：即ち中国の青蘘。》

【文萱花】一名歓冬花。花は萱花のようである。特に小さい。葉には青白相間わる紋がある。

【山蘓花】一名猿莚（サラムシロ）花。花なく幹なし。土を出て長ずるが尺に及ばない。葉は蕉のようで小さい。堅厚で紋がある。

【雷山花】土名古茄。葉は鉄梗海棠のようである。花は牽牛花のようでやや小さい。鴉翠色。四、五月に開く。十一月に至って豆のような子を結ぶ。苞は榴房のようである。子数十粒を蔵む。種えることができる。

英語訳

**Nago Orchid**: The leaves are short and thick, same as column leaves. The size is barely like a finger. It blooms in the third and fourth months. It is no different from orchids. Eight or nine clusters bloom together on one stem. The fragrance is clear and increasingly superior. This orchid grows among the rocky cliffs of Mount Nago. It requires no water or soil. Sometimes it grows parasitically on tree branches, or is wrapped in palm fiber and hung. There is also the wind orchid. Its leaves are somewhat longer compared to regular orchids. The fragrance is like that of galangal and fennel. Bamboo is woven into baskets and hung in front of the wind. It multiplies extremely easily. The common people all prize orchids. They call them "Confucius flowers."

**Millet Orchid**: Also called Zhi orchid. The leaves are like phoenix tails. The flowers are like pearls. Among orchids there are also pine orchid, bamboo orchid, and stick orchid. *[Marginal note: Shaped like coral trees. Green colored with no leaves. Flowers emerge from between branches. Similar to orchids but rather small.]*

**Wild Peony**: Local name is 𦬯 flower. The leaves are no different from peonies. In the second and third months, flowers bloom forming clusters. They hang in clusters like bells. White petals with purple shading and sandalwood centers. About the size of bowls. Extremely fragrant and intense. The leaves are chewed and used as mouth freshener. This variety grows on Mount Daihei. There are also wild begonia, immortal staff, broom peach, and wild orchid. *[Marginal note: This is China's qing rang.]*

**Patterned Day-lily Flower**: Also called happy winter flower. The flowers are like day-lily flowers but particularly small. The leaves have blue and white alternating patterns.

**Mountain Su Flower**: Also called monkey mat (Saramushiro) flower. No flowers, no trunk. It emerges from soil and grows but does not reach a foot in height. Leaves are like plantain but smaller. Firm and thick with patterns.

**Thunder Mountain Flower**: Local name is old eggplant. Leaves are like iron-stem begonia. Flowers are like morning glory but somewhat smaller. Crow-jade color. Blooms in the fourth and fifth months. By the eleventh month, it produces bean-like seeds. The pods are like pomegranate chambers. They contain several dozen seeds. Can be planted.
